Helping others is built into the app
There's no separate responder app or sign-up. Every verified RAKSHA member can turn on availability to receive nearby alerts and offer non-confrontational support — you choose when, and your safety always comes first.
Who can respond to alerts
Everyone joins RAKSHA the same way. These are the requirements before you can answer other members' alerts.
Age & residency
You must meet the minimum age requirement and reside in an area RAKSHA supports.
Identity check
Complete the same government photo-ID verification as every member before you can respond.
Accept the code
Read and agree to the responder code of conduct. Approval may be reviewed periodically.
Background checks
Where lawful and appropriate, additional checks may apply before responder access is granted.
The rules every responder agrees to
Non-negotiable. These rules protect the person in need, the public, and you.
No confrontation
Never confront, restrain, or pursue anyone. Your role is presence and support, not enforcement.
No weapons or force
Weapons are prohibited. You must not use force or enter private property.
Duty to call 112/999
If there is any risk to life or safety, contacting emergency services comes first — always.
Within your competence
Do not provide medical treatment beyond your training. Offer calm, non-confrontational support.
Protect the vulnerable
Follow safeguarding rules around minors and vulnerable adults, and escalate concerns immediately.
Respect privacy
Use shared location only for the active alert. Never record, share, or misuse anyone’s data.
You stay in control
Volunteering never means putting yourself at risk.
Control your availability
Turn responder availability on or off whenever you like. You are never on duty by default.
Decline any alert
You can decline any alert for any reason. You are never obligated or pressured to attend.
Get context first
Receive available risk context before deciding, so you can make a safe, informed choice.
Share your status
Keep the person informed with simple status updates, or step back and call 112/999.
